Does my grade meet the prerequisite requirement?

Choose the grade you earned and the minimum grade the prerequisite requires, both on the standard 4.0 scale. This compares them directly and tells you whether the requirement is met.

How we calculated this

Your grade and the required minimum are both converted to quality points on the standard 4.0 scale, then compared directly. Using the example values above (a B, worth 3.0, against a C minimum, worth 2.0), the requirement is met, since 3.0 is at least 2.0. A higher ordered grade always meets a lower threshold on the same scale.

Limitations

This uses the standard A/B/C/D/F 4.0 scale only; it does not support plus/minus grades or a percentage-based prerequisite rule. If your school states the requirement as a raw percentage instead of a letter grade, convert it to the nearest letter grade on your school's own scale first.

Common mistakes

A common error is comparing grades on two different scales without converting them first, such as checking a percentage grade against a letter-grade threshold directly; always convert both sides to the same scale before comparing. Another is assuming a "C or better" rule means strictly above a C, when it almost always means C or higher, inclusive.

Frequently asked

What if my school uses plus/minus grades?
Round to the nearest whole letter grade on this scale, or check your school's exact plus/minus quality-point values and compare those numbers directly yourself.
Does this check more than just the grade?
No; for a combined GPA, prerequisite grade, and credit rule, see Major Admission Threshold instead.
What does "met" actually confirm?
Only that your entered grade is at or above the entered minimum on the scale you chose; it does not confirm any other admission or enrollment requirement.
Can I use this for a non-prerequisite grade requirement?
Yes; the comparison works the same way for any minimum-grade rule, not only prerequisites specifically.
Why does a higher grade always meet a lower threshold?
Because both sides are compared as quality points on the same ordered scale; a strictly higher point value can never fail a lower-or-equal minimum.
Does the specific course matter to this calculation?
No; only the two grades you select matter. The comparison is the same regardless of which course the prerequisite actually is.
