What average do I need across my remaining quizzes?

Enter what the rest of your course already contributes, the combined weight of your remaining quizzes, and your target. This solves for the average those quizzes need.

Need your next decision? Remaining Test Average Needed

How we calculated this

This solves for the average across every remaining quiz's combined weight, using the same target-solving math as the rest of this site. Using the example values above (56 points already locked in, 30% combined quiz weight, an 86% target), the remaining quizzes need an average of 100%.

Limitations

If your quizzes carry unequal weights, "combined weight" already has to reflect their total share of the course; this tool does not break that total back down per quiz.

Common mistakes

A frequent error is entering the known contribution from a stale earlier calculation after a new quiz has already been graded; recompute your current standing with Current Weighted Course Grade before reusing that number here.

Frequently asked

What if I have both quizzes and tests left?
Use Remaining Test Average Needed for tests specifically, or combine everything into Average Needed Across Remaining Assessments.
Is a 100% average actually realistic?
That is your call to make; this tool only reports the number the math requires, not whether it is a comfortable target.
Do all my remaining quizzes need to hit this average individually?
No; it is the average across all of them combined. Scoring above it on one quiz creates room to score below it on another, as long as the combined average holds.
What if I only have one quiz left?
Then the required average and the required score on that one quiz are the same number.
