In what order can I take these courses given their prerequisites?

Enter your available terms in order, then each course with the terms it is offered in and any prerequisites (by course ID) it needs first. Mark any course you have already completed. This schedules every course into the earliest offered term after its prerequisites are met.

How we calculated this

Each course is placed into the earliest term in which it is offered that comes strictly after every one of its prerequisites has already been scheduled or completed; a course can never be placed before an unmet prerequisite, regardless of when it happens to be offered. Using the example values above (Course A with no prerequisites offered in term 1, Course B requiring A and offered in term 2), the schedule places A in Fall and B in Spring, in that order.

If a prerequisite relationship forms a cycle, or a course's only offered terms are all before its prerequisite can be met, the tool reports that problem directly by course ID rather than guessing at a schedule around it.

Limitations

This checks prerequisite order and term offering only; it does not know your school's real credit-load limits, so a valid sequence here could still require more courses in one term than you can realistically carry. It also does not verify that the courses and prerequisites you enter match your actual catalog.

Common mistakes

A common error is listing a prerequisite ID that does not match any entered course exactly, which the tool rejects rather than silently ignoring. Another is offering a course only in terms that occur before its prerequisite could possibly be finished, which correctly reports as unschedulable rather than an incorrect early placement.

Frequently asked

What does "already completed" do?
It marks a course as satisfied from term zero, so anything depending on it can be scheduled starting in your very first entered term.
What if two courses require each other?
The tool reports a cycle, since no valid order exists; check your entered prerequisites for a mistake.
Can a course have more than one prerequisite?
Yes; separate multiple prerequisite IDs with commas, and the course waits for every one of them.
Does this check my actual credit load per term?
No; it only enforces prerequisite order and term offering. Check your resulting term-by-term load against your own realistic pace separately.

Once your sequence is set, see Major, Minor, and Elective Allocation to check how these courses apply toward your specific requirement buckets.
