Do I meet my school's Dean's List rule this term?

Enter your term GPA and credits, plus the minimum GPA and minimum credits your school's rule actually requires. Both conditions are checked and shown separately, since Dean's List rules almost always require both at once, not just one.

How we calculated this

Both conditions, GPA and credits, are checked independently against the minimums you entered, and the overall result requires both to hold at once. Using the example values above (3.6 GPA and 12 credits against a rule of 3.5 GPA and 12 credits), both conditions hold, so the rule is met.

Limitations

This only checks the two conditions you enter; if your school's actual rule includes other requirements (no incomplete or failing grades, a minimum number of graded credits versus pass/fail, or a specific enrollment status), those are not checked here. Confirm your school's exact rule in its own catalog or student handbook.

Common mistakes

A common error is entering your cumulative GPA instead of your term GPA, when most Dean's List rules are evaluated per term, not across your whole academic career. Another is entering total credits attempted instead of credits that actually count toward the rule, if your school excludes certain course types (remedial or audited courses, for example) from the credit requirement.

Frequently asked

What if I only know one of the two numbers for sure?
Enter your best estimate for the other and treat the result as provisional; recalculate once both numbers are confirmed, since the rule requires both conditions to hold.
Does this predict whether my school will actually award Dean's List?
No; it only checks the two numeric conditions you enter against the rule you enter. Your school's actual award process may include additional checks or a manual review step this tool cannot see.
What if my school's rule uses "OR" instead of "AND"?
This specific tool assumes both conditions are required together, matching the most common Dean's List structure; if your rule is genuinely an "OR" between multiple paths, use Honors Threshold Scenario instead, since it supports both AND and OR logic.
Can I use this for a different, unrelated GPA-and-credit rule?
Yes; the math does not care what the rule is actually called, only whether both conditions hold, so it works for any two-part "GPA and credits" threshold your school states.
