How we calculated this
An additive curve adds a flat number of points, capped at your maximum; a multiplicative curve multiplies the raw score, also capped. Using the example values above (80% raw, a 5-point additive curve, cap 100%), the curved score is 85%. If the raw score plus the curve would exceed the cap, the result is held at the cap instead.
Limitations
This models exactly the curve you specify; it does not predict whether your instructor will actually apply one, or which type. Treat this as "what if," not "what will happen."
Common mistakes
A common error is entering a multiplicative parameter as a percentage (110) instead of a multiplier (1.1), which produces a wildly incorrect curved score. Double-check that a multiplicative parameter is entered as a decimal multiplier, not a percentage.

- A negative additive parameter or a multiplier below 1 would, though that is unusual for a curve in practice; the tool does not prevent it since it is your own scenario to test.

- What is the difference between additive and multiplicative curves?
